Part 141 or type 141?

Part 141 is an approved training program basically.

They submit a "syllabus" to the feds, the feds approve it, they have X amount of time to keep the pass rate up...

Just a different way to go.

For example, to do it all Pt 61 (From PPL-CFI/II) you'd need at LEAST 250TT. Probably more like at LEAST 260TT once you finish the CFII ride.

The school here has sent people from 0 time to CFII in about 6 months (so they say...I've been doing my Commercial single for that long, so...take that with a grain of salt) and less than 190 hours.

Is it better? It can be.

Does it make better pilots? I've seen some real douchebags leave the program with their tickets, but I've seen some guys that could really fly and really knew their stuff.

I think it's bobbysamd that is big on 141 stuff vs. 61 stuff. Someone will be able to clarify more probably.

My experience is it isn't the part you train under, it's the instructor providing the training. My PVT CFI and my CSE CFI (at least for the -RG portion) were phenomenal. For the IR and CSE (152 portion) were okay...but not super. Also, the guy that does ground schools here is AMAZING. He's got some good stories, but he's got some experience to back it up too.

Nothing wrong with that. The checkride itself is under Pt 61, so why not check out 61, 43, 91, 21, maybe 23, 71, stuff like that. If he trained under 61, looking at the 141 stuff might just be confusing...especially to a Student pilot...

Oh yeah...another bonus of some 141 schools is "self examining authority"

All that means, is they do the check rides. If you fail it...you still don't really fail it... Not that it matters, but some people are big on "no pink slips"...

well thanks for ur responds NOW I KNOW THIS I didnt before, and I am a private pilot I have a oaci ppl I guess is probably the same that a faa ppl however I had an Idea but wasnt sure, anyways thanks for the clarification .:)

afirmativo, mi lisencia la saque en guatemala pero ahora vivo en pittsburgh mucho gusto , cualquier cosa estoy a tu servicio, y a ver si no nos dicen algo ya que no se si se puede hablar español, pero no importa.;) however OACI or ICAO is for all latinamerica central south caribean and mexico.and others, all International

Im pretty sure that with my ICAO ppl I had to know something about this 141 I just have many years of not looking up any aviation related topics till now. Besides ICAO is based on FAA. well bottom line is now I know . :p

I had no clue what part 141 was when I finished my private, I only learned that when I did my instrument, because I did it 141, so nothing wrong with not knowing, even if you are FAA.
