What is the max duty time in a 24 hour period for a pilot flying part 135? Or max flying (or is it block) time in a 24 hour period for a pilot flying part 135. If you have a citation to the FARs handy, that would be great, too.
Under Part 135 ther are two time limits. The first is for duty time, in which it states Part 135.267 (d) "at least 10 consecutive hours of rest during the 24-hour period that precedes the planned completion time of the assignment." Subtract 10 hours from 24 hours you end up with a "14" hour duty day. This is a maximum duty day under Part 135.
The second is a flight time limitation for scheduled or non-scheduled operations. Under Part 135.267 Unscheduled one- and two-pilot crews. One pilot can fly 8 hours and a two pilot crew can fly 10 hours. There are a few exceptions that are listed under Part 135.267 (e).
If you are operation under Part 135.265 (Scheduled ops) you need to have 9 hours of rest during a 24 hour periord, and you can fly 8 hours during 24 consutive hours. You can go on reduced rest of 8 hours, but then you need more the next periord, and you fly fly over 8 but then you need more rest for that too.
