Anyone out there with a Collins 6100 FMS and P-RNAV approval? If so how did you write your International Ops Manualto gain approval? Until Collins is approved DO-200A I am in a bit of a delimma ... I think.

Thanks in advance.

Title: European Precision RNAV (PRNAV) Compliance
Applies to the following Rockwell Collins Flight Management Systems: FMS-3000,
FMS-4200, AMS-5000, FMS-5000, FMS-6000, and FMS-6100 (“FMSs”)

Summary
JAA TGL-10, "European Precision RNAV" provides guidance material for the approval
of aircraft and operations in the European region where Precision Area Navigation (P-
RNAV) is required. TGL-10 lists requirements for equipment functions, requirements for
performance characteristics, recommendations for equipment functions, and
requirements and operational procedures that the aircraft operator must address in
order to obtain approval for P-RNAV operations

Detail

The FMSs comply with all the required equipment functions and required performance
characteristics.

The FMSs provide all but two of the recommended equipment functions. The two
recommended equipment functions that the FMSs do not currently provide are:

The “Take off Shift” Position Update (for a displaced threshold when FMS position is
based on DME/DME/IRS), and

The RF (Radius to a Fix) Leg.

Operations in some terminal areas may require a dual FMS installation.

In addition to the required equipment functions and recommended equipment functions,
TGL-10 requires the aircraft operator to address certain operational issues to obtain an
approval for P-RNAV operations:

TGL-10 requires that the navigation database updating process shall comply with
EUROCAE ED-76/RTCA DO-200A, or equivale nt approved procedures. Rockwell
Collins is not yet compliant with ED-76/DO-200A and is working towards establishing
ED-76/DO-200A compliance.

Until Rockwell Collins complies with EUROCAE ED-76/RTCA DO-200A, TGL-10
requires that, prior to the effective date of the navigation database, the operator
must implement navigation database integrity checks using appropriate software
tools or approved manual procedures.

Rockwell Collins has prepared a compliance matrix that includes operational
requirements that must be addressed by the aircraft operator.

Look in the Limitations section of the AFM. Should be a statement saying that the FMS is approved for B-RNAV and P-NAV in accordance with blah blah blah

There lies the problem, the database as provided by Collins is not approved. The box works just fine, but database is not approved.

In doing my research today I found what BizPilot provided. In talking with other folks on Collin 6100's this sould work just fine.

This is the first I've heard about the database being an issue. What is causing the problem? I'm curious about other operators with the same unit. I'll see what I can dig up at the office on Monday.
