I was flying from DCA to MCO and was offered a shortcut that took us overwater. I remember reading that we have to stay within a certain distance of shore to be legal, but I cant remember the distance or where to find it. Anyone have any suggestions?

Gliding distance.

But that's only if you don't have the required safety equipment.

5O NM without rafts. There is a waiver to go out to 162nm without the rafts. If you have it, it is in your OPSPECS. I think it is B046.
