06-12-09 | Southwest Moving Forward with Plans to Use Aeroman Maintenance Provider
Southwest Airlines is moving forward with plans to begin using Aeroman, a Maintenance Provider located in El Salvador, Central America. Our goal in choosing this option, as with any decision, is to balance a need to ensure the financial success of our Company while zealously protecting our Safety record, and vigilantly taking care of our Southwest Airlines Employees. The first aircraft check will be July 1, and additional maintenance lines are scheduled to begin in January, April, and July of 2010. Earlier this year, Southwest Airlines and AMFA agreed that this type of work will be limited to one international location and four lines of maintenance. The work at Aeroman will target the -300 and -500 aircraft brought in for heavy maintenance checks that require extensive downtime. We anticipate that utilizing Aeroman will reduce the time aircraft are out of service, which will make the aircraft available for additional revenue opportunities

Southwest is not the only one doing this. This is happening with every airline and its a shame. Most company's are going this route. Little do they know they are getting a paper airplane in return.

What 99% of people in this country don't realize is everytime something is sold for less than its worth, that comes at the expense of something noble in their business plan.

SWA outsources a $hit-ton of their mx, Airtran pilots are underpaid, United and Airways have replaced all their 25 year ramp employees with $8 an hour college kids, etc.

When will this country actually find pride in paying what somethings worth, so those NOT willing to work for the lowest wage can get whats due for their hard work.
