DL's new flight - DAL185 VABB/BOM nonstop to ATL - 17-1/2 hour flight.

That is just too damned long of a flight.

I wonder what kind of block times the ATLSYD stuff is around - since they have made it a nonsecret that that is where they wanna be able to go.

How can you manage your rest for a day like that - and onboard "rest" is hardly rest.
 
For starters it will not be direct to ATL. It will go through LAX first.

777 is a lot better to rest in than most other jets. Also, the FA's have a rest facility too.
