I flew into KOSH during airventure a couple of years ago and would do it again. As long as you read the notam AND follow it, its no drama. I wouldn't do it alone, an extra set of eyes is priceless. Doing the underwing camping on the field was awesome and I can't wait to do it again.siucavflight said:I would never fly into KOSH during airventure, too many amatures out there, kind of like being at 3CK on a nice saturday afternoon.
That is good, the problems that I have run into is other people not knowing what the heck is going on.SteveC said:I've flown in numerous times. It's doable and not unsafe if you do a few things:
1. Read, understand, and follow the Notam instructions.
2. Be competent at air speed and aircraft control (i.e. match the "flow", and be able to land where they tell you.
3. Keep your head on a swivel and watch the traffic around you.
4. ...and the most important safety rule, where *these*, safety glasses (for you Norm Abram fans).
It's been a few years since I've been in there. They used to require a slot time for IFR flight plans. Are you planning on VFR or IFR arrival?
