I heard that about a previous bunch going to the X, is that ok with the pilot group? Are people not bidding open slots in the X?

Don't take this as an attempt to rile people up. I left before the contract was finished so don't know what it says, only curious.

There was a bid for X SICs back in late 2010 and there was no response to it as we only have a small handful of of SICs left. Most of the pilots in the right seat are PICs and do not want to bid a paycut for an SIC seat. The recalled pilots are all comming back as SICs to fill the empty right seats starting with the X then BJ then Phenom. Per contract all SICs are paid the same for time in service, not type of aircraft like PICs.

The X slots that were filled by the recalled pilots were SIC positions. They were first offered to the active pilot group, and nobody bid on them. (except for a very few permanent SIC's, all the active pilots at FO are PIC's at PIC pay- bidding those SIC slots would have resulted in a substantial pay cut). The company could have forced junior PIC's into the positions (with the pay cut) but instead decided to offer the slots to the furloughees.

Anybody know how far down the list they had to go to get 8 to come back? Are there any provisions to bypass recall or is it one and done? And how many folks are left on the furlough list?

Thanks and good for you guys.

You can bypass the recall as long as someone is JR to you. If you are the most JR guy/gal and you don't come back when called then they start to hire off the street.

I think their is about 180 still on the call back list.

I don't think that is correct at all. You're missing 80% of the process. They go down the list, like you said, but then go BACK UP the list and THEN hire off the street.

I dont work there and have never read the CBA, but if I'm wrong then they have a retarded union.

Recall

Onetimer is correct. They go back to the top everytime they recall and when they get to the end of the list they hire off the street. The most jr man only gets one shot.
