Dear DNC and Senator Kerry,

I would first of all like to congratulate

Senator Kerry on his nomination and also

thank you for giving me the opportunity to

speak my mind..

I lost my job this past year. When Clinton

was president, I worked in a prosperous

enterprise. But in this last year, we had

to close our operations. Far worse, I lost

two of my sons in Bush's evil war in Iraq.

They gave their lives for their country,

and for what?

My pain of losing my sons is indescribable.

While it is trivial next to that great loss,

I regret to say that I also lost my homes.

I simply have nothing left.

I am a senior citizen with various medical

problems. I'm not in a position where I

can begin a new career. I was reduced to

the point where I was homeless, and without

hope all because of President Bush. And

when the authorities found me, did they

have any compassion for my misfortune and

ailments? No, I was arrested. If I had

any money left, I would donate it to the

Democratic Party.

If Al Gore had been elected in 2000,

I guarantee you, I would still have a job, a

home, and most importantly, my sons!

Regards,

Saddam Hussein

So I guess you don't mind the fact that for the first time in the 200+ year history of the United States, we invaded and conquered a country that didn't attack us first?

P.S. There were no Iraqis directly involved in 9/11, so don't start with the "but they attacked first!"

What about:

Canada - the U.S. invaded

Spain - the U.S. attacked and took their possesions on very flimsy charges

Mexico - the U.S. invaded and conquered

Nicaragua - the U.S. occupied

Russia - the U.S. intervened militarily in their revolution

Grenada - the U.S. invaded and conquered

Gulf War I - the U.S. attacked despite not having been attacked first

You beat me to it. However, you left out Germany. It was Japan that attacked us at Pearl Harbor yet not only did we declare war on Germany but we had a Germany first policy.

Did we forget: Korea? Viet Nam?

Shallow Hal

In a nutshell, NO! Of course it was not the first time either.

And you are right, they did not attack us first, we beat them to it. Wake up man!

I love how people can pinpoint all of their problems on such a distant figure as the president. Denial is a powerful thing.

Germany issued a declaration of war on Dec 8th. Japan physically attacked our base at Hawaii and destroyed the bulk of the Pacific Fleet on Dec 7th. The American population wanted revenge on Japan but President Roosevelt deemed Nazi Germany to be the bigger threat and prioritized our armed forces on defeating Hitler first.
