US soldier attacks own with grenades...

Murderer at U.S. Camp in Kuwait Kills One, wounds others with grenades.

sad news to hear...and you are right chunk! I couldn't figure how to title this post...thanks for your help. I was really taken back by this news when I heard it. Yes, this is definitely something that ranks up there with a military trial, demotion to E-1, a hanging, then burial in the sand in IRAQ with no honors.

One of our own soldiers, a muslim, was reported by various news media is being questioned. News reports say one other soldier died of wounds suffered in grenade attack. I surely hope not. But if this is true, screw the legal system, tie him to a pole and let the other guys out there have at his sorry little anus. Just my humble opinion. ;)

Isn't this Treason? Doesn't the Military execute people for this? I for one hope they blindfold this guy and put him in front of a firing squad and shoot him to death "TODAY"

Our Comander said; Either you are with us, Or you are Terrorist!
And that goes for all you Anti-War demonstrators to!

God Bless America An All Who Stand Beside Her!

WrightAvia,

You should edit the title of the thread...this wasn't fatracide; this was MURDER.

This is a textbook case of TREASON. Back in the day, they'd tie you to a pole in front of your own squad...

This is my disagreeing with you. Am I anti-American and anti-troops?

I'll bite. Are you?

Are you with us, or against us? A simple choice, based on a decision between good and evil. France and Germany have chosen evil.

How about you?

France and Germany evil? Is the Pope evil? How about Christian churches are they evil? Maybe if you want evil you should look in the mirror. Here is an interesting post from the ALPA webgroups:

"...with moral certainty I say to you it does not meet even the minimal standards of the Catholic just war theory...thus, any killing associated with it is unjustified and, in consequence, unequivocally murder. Direct participation in this war is the moral equivalent of direct participation in an abortion." -- Michael Botean, Catholic bishop

"Our conference's moral concerns and questions, as well as the call of the Holy Father to find alternatives to war, are well known and reflect our prudential judgments about the application of traditional Catholic teaching on the use of force in this case." -- United States Conference of Catholic Bishops

"Our country, especially because of its wealth and might, has a particular responsibility to pursue policies of cooperation and to seek to resolve conflicts peacefully. In our view, neither has the United States responsibly exercised its leadership role within the United Nations and in related diplomatic efforts to avert war, nor have our national leaders sufficiently made the case that they have pursued all reasonable avenues other than war." -- Evangelical Lutheran Association of America

"This military response may bring not only death and destruction, but increased anti-American and anti-Western sentiment, spreading the kinds of convictions and passions that so often lead to further violence and destruction" -- Menonite Central Committee

"...appalled that the United States and its allies are launching such a mighty attack on a country where, on the humanitarian side, perhaps one half of the population is made up of children, and where, on the strategic side, the use of chemical and biological weapons against the invaders and local people is an alarming possibility." -- Methodist Board of Global Ministries

"Instead of waging war, our faith calls us to wage reconciliation. This involves the demanding and difficult challenge of loving our enemies and embracing policies of generosity of spirit that build up the global community" -- Presiding Bishop and Primate (Episcopal)

"Though we know all too well the real toll of every war, it is our fervent prayer that God will offer protection to all those who are placed in harm’s way by decisions not of their own making." -- Presbyterian Pastoral Letter

"The case for a preemptive attack on Iraq has not been made. While Iraq’s weapons potential is uncertain, the death that would be inflicted on all sides in a war is certain. Striking against Iraq now will not serve to prevent terrorism or defend our nation’s interests. We fear that war would only provoke greater regional instability and lead to the mass destruction it is intended to prevent." -- United Church of Christ Statement

"The Jewish obligation is clear: Pursue justice, seek peace, and work unceasingly for Tikkun Olam — healing the planet." -- Jewish Statement on the Eve of War, The Shalom Center

“A pre-emptive war by the United States against a nation like Iraq goes against the very grain of our understanding of the gospel...To be silent in the face of such a prospect is not an option for the followers of Christ" -- United Methodists Council of Bishops

"...war is always a defeat for humanity and a tragedy for religion." -- Pope John Paul II

" war is always a failure of humanity to achieve God's will of peace and thus is always a great sin." -- Baptist World Alliance

hey chunk

I tried to edit the title of the post, but couldn't. I think we both agree on what you said. It's definitely a murder. Not FRATRACIDE, in the sense of the accidental killing of friendlies. Definitely a FRAGGING though. You are right, this guy desearves to be given the UCMJ to furthest extent that it allows.

datafox,

It's no secret that historically, heads of faith will oppose war no matter what. Only one opinion will end up mattering in the end though, and which side do you think enjoys His support?

Datafox:

I'm sorry you wasted so much of your time copying and pasting those quotes. Perhaps you thought that I would be impressed. I am. That was a lot of work on your computer.

The relevant point is this: moral certainty does not reside with the Catholic Church, an association of Lutherans, bishops, Presbyterians, Methodists, (the faith where I was raised) or any other group or for that matter. It comes from an understanding of good and evil. Apparently, these folks you have quoted don't have the Big Picture. Do you realize how long it took the Catholic Church to take a moral stand against Hitler? HITLER! They have, to say the least, a poor track record in the "moral certainty" department. Need I refer you to the opinions of the hundreds of young men who were abused by priests? I think that horse is well beaten. Spanish inquisition? I rest my case.

If you want to talk about Christian beliefs, and apparently you do, then you must go back to the Bible. You will find that throughout this "founding document" of the Christain faith a great number of situations where God gave his followers victory over evil in battle. While Christ preached peace on an individual basis that we "turn the other cheek", he also mandated that the things of civil government were the province of man. That's why he let Himself be crucifed. It was lawful that he be executed. He knew it would happen before he took on a human form, and he used it for His purpose of salvation. In addition, He comletely validated ALL of the Old Testament scripture, including the defeat of evil. In fact, following the "rapture", Christ will return leading a huge army of belivers in a great battle where evil is finally defeated, and He will reign on Earth.

Apologies to those of you who don't believe. Some religious leaders were quoted here, and I had to set Datafox straight on doctrine.

Last, you have misquoted me in your opening sentence. I did not say that France and Germany were evil. I said that they had chosen evil, as in a decision to support one side or the other. France, for example, has shown that they have been willing to sell weapons components to Iraq when these sales have been banned. Recently, they acted as intermediaries between China and Iraq for the acquisition of nuclear components. Now if this is not a clear support of an "evil" regime by your standard, then I feel you need to live on earth another 20 or so years so that international politics become more clear to you.

If at the end of all this we find there were no WMD's, Oh well, I'll still stand behind my President and the decision he made to go in and take this evil man and his regime out. And, I'll stand behind my Country and the People who protect my freedom whatever the cost.
GOD BLESS ALL AMERICANS, AND ALL WHO STAND UNITED WITH THEM!

Chunk and Wrightavia:

Fraticide is the correct word. Literally it means killing your brother. We have probably heard it used more in discussing, accidental, friendly fire incidents, but it is also correct to use it to describe intentional "fragging".

Catholic church has a moral authority?

Get it right. The catholic church smuggled nazis out of europe into South America. Funneled them through Croatia into the predominantly catholic south america. The pope supported the axis during the early stages of the war and conviently switched when american troops invaded italy.

The catholic church has NO moral authority whatsoever. Anyone who sits idle by and watches its pedophile priests continue to molest innocent children has no morals.

Murder is the the right description and the right label. This a-hole was no brother-in-arms.

In addition, He completely validated ALL of the Old Testament scripture, including the defeat of evil.

Timebuilder-

Where in the New Testament does Jesus "completely validate ALL of the Old Testament scripture"?

Being that Jesus is "God the Son", the quickest reference is Second Timothy, 3:16-17. "All scripture is given by inspiration of God...". There is no scripture that is NOT by inspiration of God.

In addition:
John 10:35, when Jesus declared "The scripture cannot be broken".

Matt 24:35: "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My (Jesus') words will by no means pass away". Jesus, as God the Son, inspired ALL of the scriptures, Old Testament and New.

And also in Matthew, 5:18: "One jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law". Not even the smallest mark is incorrect.

Jesus cited ten scriptures from the Old Testament on the subjects of Adam and Eve, Satan, Noah, Jonah, and Lot's wife, during His brief time as flesh.

Good question, JJay.

One of the Air Force men in Iraq is from my church. I invite all of the members here to pray for our troops, and for a swift end to the war with an American victory.

murder

Couldn't agree more. This was murder and this worthless scumbag is a traitor.

Should have been shot on the spot. I hope he never makes it back to the US. 50 years ago a guy like this would have been shot trying to escape....

And for the protestors and euro-philes--there is NO WAY to "support the troops" and protest the war. The guys in the field are affected by protests at home. Thoughts like -- what the hell am I here for then, if all this is for nothing? -- Not good or SAFE going through a man's head in combat. They need to know we are WITH them and supporting their efforts.

The time for debate and protest is over. This is not Vietnam. GWB is hardly LBJ. Support our troops, support our country and they will come home soon, job complete and our country safer for it.

Saw an interview this AM with a former POW from the Vietnam War. He KNOWS it is demoralizing to men over there to see protests at home because it WAS FOR HIM. He was there for 4 1/2 years and was shown all sorts of footage by his captors to break him.

If this is not something that needs to be punished immediatly then I dont know what does. I am sure there will be some scumbag lawyer out there that will say Ohhh the stress .....Whahhhh is what caused it. Screw that . Tie him to a post and let the people that got injured be the firing squad. I am sorry but there has to be discipline in the face of fire. You f up you pay. This one needs to pay with his life to let the others know what will happen to them if they try the same.

Inline--such a well-thought out, insightful post.

Are you perhaps....French?

Chunk,

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't suggesting that it wasn't murder, clearly it is, my point was that of semantics, that the word fratricide doesn't imply an accidental incident any more than Homicide or Suicide implies an accidental death.

This forum isn't for your bull$hit sermons!

I'm sorry you missed the line where I apologized to those who wouldn't like to read my response to Datafox' post. In it, she was holding up the quotations of several so-called "religious leaders" as being the source of important opinions on the morality of the war.

Let apologize to you personally if you have taken some offense to my explanation. I felt it was germaine to the topic, since she decided to take it in that direction. If you read me regularly, you will see that I do not initiate these "offensive" discussions. I react to incorrect information to set other posters straight on the topic.

This correction might end up being very important to one person out of our 8,000 plus members, or the untold guests that visit here.

Chill.

If a soldier was killed, he can be hung by the military if found guilty. It wasn't that long ago that a member of the armed forces was found guilty and hung.

He will have a military lawyer for his article 32, but if he chooses civilian council there won't be any Cochran-like shenanigans allowed.

He's toast.

Those who rail most viciously against the Bible and the teachings of Jesus are those who are most subconscously fearful that they are actually true. No one fears what they do not believe will occur. If it is all a lie, then why the emotional reaction?
You have tipped your hand.
You know who this addressed to.

Standing by for emotional reaction pt 2.

Now that was High Octane there 100LL...You go Boy!

Timebuilder....excellent post. Well written and relevant. I've enjoyed most of your rhetoric.

merikeyegro...please don't try to whitewash this with the Hollywood free speech cr@p. When Muslim boy joined the military BY CHOICE, he CHOSE to serve under the flag which defines courage, honor, and integrity, and is painted in the blood of our great grandfathers who fought and died defending the liberties which CIVILIANS enjoy. Soldiers don't picket, don't speak freely, and don't fuc*ing kill their superior officers because they couldn't get a milkshake.
Unfortunately, the military today, and our leaders, are being pressured by those Political pressures to ensure everyone "feels" OK in today's military.

If I were an engineer, I'd find a warhead, load it with plenty of gunpowder, all the political correctness I could find, pack in some flag burning picketers, and screw Jane Fonda on top...BOOM. All's well that ends.....well.

Of course, let me end this by apologizing to anyone that I've offended in any way, shape, or verb. I'm an equal opportunity poster and don't post against any race, creed, s@x, religion, nationality, background, current furlough status, or income level.

Thank you Timebuilder.

France and Germany... we all know their track records and their interests.

-----------------------------------

Please don't use the Pope or the Catholic church as your example of good. Organized religion is not the pure bastion of good you might think, the Catholic church especially. Their blatant lies and deceit of the numerous attrocities commited against children over the decades should speak volumes. Some just don't get it.

Respectfully,
A catholic ashamed of his Church but proud to be American
Making the hard decisions, that is good.

So I'm having a good day, 2 legs, fun crew, late show, no WX.....

Then I pick up the main section of the USA Today......

Chris, the Capt that died from this was a friend from my college days. This whole thing sucks.
