in '03 i did a 2 day course at allatps. day 1 was review of the profile. day 2, i was allowed to fly the profile enroute to the 8am check ride.
had i know that the examiner could give rides in the plane i flew for my job at the time, i would have just used it. it is not like any dual instruction is required or anything.
