On-line Jepp plates?

Does anyone have a link where I can view Jepp plates for different airports? I thought AOPA had it on their website, but I couldn't find it.

As far as I know, AOPA only publishes the NOS plates. Go to the airport directory, select an airport, and they're listed under "Terminal Procedures".

I really do need Jepp plates though. They don't even necessarily have to be current. I'm just interested in looking them over.

If you have Microsoft Flight Simulator 2002 they have attached the Jepp plates that are used in the sim checkrides. Those are some to look over.

Go to an FBO and ask if they will give you the old ones. Tell them why. Can't hurt.

I'd be surprised if you'll find Jepp plates available online. Jepps are copyrighted and it's likely that Jeppesen defends it's copyright vigorously. It's a major source of revenue for them. The NACO charts on the other hand aren't copyrighted, they're in the public domain and the Government probably doesn't make any profit from publishing them ... so you're free to copy those.

I just threw out a handful of jepps, too bad.

Thanks guys. I had a feeling I would have a hard time finding them online for free. Just thought I'd ask though. I can't afford to buy new ones, so I may try TXCAP's idea of asking for old ones from an FBO. I want to say that I thought I heard someplace that the ones that expire and are not sold are sent back to Jeppesen. It's worth a try though.

you mentioned you couldn't afford to buy them, which i can understand. barring the suggestions given to you on this thread, you actually could buy a set fairly cheap from jepp. i used to get texas only every few months for only around $25. can you afford that? you get everything you need in the package, including the legend, which makes it helpful to study the charts if that is what you are going to do (for an interview, for example).

FYI it's called Airway Manual Express according to their website...i couldn't find the price

The express pack varies with area. The Great Lakes region is $27.00. So I think it is safe to say that they can be had for 25-30 bucks.

But they do expire in 56 days unless you have a subscription.

Well, yeah I could actually afford that but i'm just not willing to pay 25 bucks X 2 for only a few airports that i'm interested in. I just want to compare the Jepp plates to the NOS ones that I currently use. I'm interested in showing and explaining the differences to an instrument student I know.

Jepp plates are good until they are ammended. Most plates are ammended every 2 years or so, not every 56 days. More often at busy places, less often at Podunk Muni. If the plate hasn't been changed, then it's still current, even if it's not from the current pack.

That could be one reason used Jepps are hard to find. If you get an express pack that was just replaced by a new one, the old one is likely still 90% current. That's why Jepp wants the packs that weren't sold sent back.

I swear (I think?) they had JEPP and NOS plates the last time I look at it, and it was free. Now there are only NOS and for a fee.
