I just visited the new Taylorcraft factory in La Grange, TX the other day. Very nice folks. For those who aren't aware, Taylorcraft is currently marketing four models, conventional gear or tricycle with either the Lycoming O-235 or O-360. I was told they finally worked out their PMA authority with FAA.

New news, (at least to me) is that they plan to start producing the BC-12 again with a Continental O-200 and electrical system as a Light Sport aircraft, price around $55k. Then, hopefully sometime next year, a new Taylor "Cub". It will basically be a Cub fuselage with T-craft wings and the O-200 as well. Both will be built in a "retro" style with panels similar to the originals.

I don't know about you guys, but a Cub with T-craft wings and 100 hp sounds pretty sweet, especially if you can't pass an FAA physical any more. Magazine articles documenting all this should be out soon. I wish them the best of luck!

(Fondly recalls skipping high school classes to sneak out in a BC-12D... :D )
