Delta Connection to Offer Non-Stop Jet Service Between Washington, D.C. (Reagan National) and Boston
CINCINNATI, Aug. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Delta Connection will offer customers jet service between Washington's Reagan National Airport and Boston beginning Sept. 3, 2002. Delta Connection carrier Comair will operate seven daily, nonstop round-trip flights between Washington and Boston's Logan International Airport using Bombardier CRJ regional jets.

The new nonstop Boston - Washington, D.C., flights complement extensive service offered to customers by Delta (NYSE: DAL - News), Delta Express, Delta Shuttle and Delta Connection at Boston and Washington, D.C.

Known for its convenience, comfort and speed, the CRJ carries passengers in a two-by-two seating arrangement; every seat is an aisle or window, with no middle seats. The plane can cruise at a speed of 530 mph at altitudes as high as 41,000 feet and is recognized as the quietest commercial jet aircraft in the world.

Delta Connection includes wholly owned subsidiaries Atlantic Southeast Airlines and Comair, additional regional carriers Atlantic Coast Airlines, Chautauqua Airlines and SkyWest Airlines, and codeshare partner American Eagle (in California). Delta Connection carriers operate more than 250 regional jets throughout North America. For more information, please contact delta.com .

Doesn't this seem to overlap Delta Shuttles? Is this is beginning of the end or at least a change for DS?

Delta Shuttle stopped DCA - BOS service about two months ago. However, it is interesting that CMR now claims some territory back from ACA replacing the Dork with a CRJ.

ACA goes into CVG and takes small routes with the Dork.

CMR goes to BOS and takes the old shuttle cherry from ACA. I wonder if CMR is also going to claim the popular BOS-RDU flights which are always full on the Dork.
