ATLANTA (TheStreet) -- Lee Moak has been elected president of the Air Line Pilots Association, sources confirmed.
Moak, who has been chairman of the Delta(NYSE:DAL) chapter of ALPA for five years, defeated three other candidates including incumbent president John Prater.
Moak had already emerged as one of the airline industry's most important labor leaders after enabling the success of the merger of Delta and Northwest. A series of recent elections has empowered pilot union leaders who share his view that for pilots to succeed, their airlines must also succeed.

Well, if the article is written by Ted Reed (USAPA shill) it's got to be true!!

To complement the quoted above, for an airline to succeed the pilots must also succeed. Until the advent of unmanned commercial flights, that will be the reality. The Practical Test Standards (PTS) should be amended to reflect that since most don't realize they are really professional contractors.

I think the CAL MEC was behind the FEDEX MEC chair while UAL supported Rice. Moak deserves a chance. I've heard both good and bad on him and am interested in how he will interject in our scope fight.

Well, assuming he dosen't try to raise the age to 70 then I'm okay with him. Prater lost all my respect with age 65.

Look at the Delta RJ situation for your answer to that. At least Traitor is out. Maybe he'll form a Blue Ribbon Panel to investigate why he lost. He can conduct a push poll that mysteriously never actually asks the question "why did I lose".
