I don't believe it was an entirely inaccurate story. I think the new administration did look at terminating the program. I also believe they recieved a huge backlash from a lot of areas.

Thats why they make 22LR conversions for the AR and AK. Got mine on order! 525 rounds for 16.99 at Walmart. Aint the same horsepower, but they punch the same size holes in the paper...
