I don't believe it was an entirely inaccurate story. I think the new administration did look at terminating the program. I also believe they recieved a huge backlash from a lot of areas.

You believe it wasn't entirely inaccurate? Do you have some information that we don't have or is that simply as much as you can believe given evidence to the contrary?
