NYC MTA looking for aircraft mechanics

The New York City Metro Transit Authority is looking for aircraft mechanics. Anyone know what the deal with this job is? I've heard of car dealers preferring aircraft mechanics, is this the same kind of thing?

That would be my guess. It may be hard to find people with train experience so they look for the next best thing. I'm sure the MTA isn't going into the airplane biz

I emailed them and they said that they were looking for people to inspect subway cars. I bet it pays better than most airline jobs.
