NWA pool?

does anyone have any credible information on what would/ will happen to the (last i heard 65-90) people in the pool for NWA? - i'm not getting my hopes up........

I have 2 buddies of mine that are in the NWA pool. They both got a letter stating that they would be left in the pool until May of 2009. If NWA doesn't use them by that time, they will have to re-apply. Hope that helps.

Oh......Northwest just called me. They said that because you can't capitalize the first letter of the first word in a sentence you will not be hired. You will be pushed to the bottom of the pool, and drowned.

There is always a chance of getting called for a class, but I think the odds are strongly against you. Northwest is shrinking its fleet, and there is very little attrition due to the older pilots sticking around to see how the merger plays out. They are still a little short-staffed so I don't see any furloughs in the near future, but anything can happen.

How could this be true if you are in the pool? My understanding is that the poolies are not required to reapply as long as they are in class by April '09. Whether or not that will happen is another issue all together.

You are correct. In the pool until 4/2009...including myself.

The 9s may be a bit more cost effective to fly than the CRJ200s, I dunno. I do know for a fact that they're cheaper to PARK than the CRJs, that's what's of real concern.

I guess that depends on who owns the RJ's Delta decides to park. I'd guess they'd find a way to get rid of RJ's they don't own(Mesa come to mind?).
