How many jumpseaters does Northwest accept?

2 offline jumpseaters (all aircraft types). If there are Pinnacle, Mesaba, or NWA jumpseaters there too they will usually write a pass... unless they are a.ssholes.

Let get this straight, if an on-line employee uses the benefits they earn from their immediate employer "they are a$sholes????"

You basically expect some low paid regional pilot to subsidize your life by paying for a pass so you can ride for free?

There is an as$hole in your story - and it is not the on-line jumpseaters.

Yes, I would be more than willing to pay $12.50 so another pilot could get to work. It's called common cortesy (not subsidizing). I've never seen a situation at Northwest where there were more than 2 offline jumpseaters anyway. But you obviously miss the big picture.

I strongly second Flight-Crews opinion on this issue. It is common courtesy for off-line guys. This could all be alleviated if NWA was like Frontier, U.S. Airways, Southwest, America West, American Trans Air, where they allow multiple jumpseaters in the back. I would like to know what the big deal is if there are fifty seats available in the back of the plane and a jumpseater is denied a seat because you have two Jumpseaters on board the aircraft?
I would like these airlines mentioned above to have exactly the same reciprocity as the Jumpseater has with their carrier. If NWA allows only two jumpseaters then then the same should be for the other carrier. If the carrier has multiple Jumpseaters then the other carrier should have the same. This two jumpseater policy is absurd and quite frankly stupid!

Don't put down NWA because of the entire major airlines; NWA has the best jumpseat policy. They allow 2 jumpseaters on all aircraft (irregardless of the actual number of jumpseats). Where Delta, United, American, and Continental only allow as many jumpseaters as there are jumpseats.... which on a lot of aircraft is just ONE JUMPSEAT. Actually US Air is the best, because they just changed their policy to unlimited jumpseaters. But I agree, all airlines should allow unlimited jumpseaters. In fact, it should be negotiated into every airline's pilot contract.
