How many guys does NWA have on the street at the moment? Also, are there plans to recall any time in the near future? Thanks.

This is subject to change shortly due to the fact NWA has informed its departments that it is removing half the DC-9 fleet by 2008. Recalls will likely be back to captain on one of the 76 seaters.

Any idea what retirements look like at NWA over the next ten years (fifteen if you include the new age 65 bunk)?

now where did you hear this......

everytime you say NWA has announced this or that, I think, thats totally different from what I am seeing. I look and look for these "announcements" Please put your money where your mouth is and put a link to your NWA ANNOUNCEMENTS

Wrong.

Put a verifiable named source to that statement or stop with the 3rd floor ATI scuttlebutt.

There will be some loss to the 76 seaters, specifically the replacement of the 36 Avro's lost last year that was picked up by additional DC9's. If you were the least bit familiar with the contract and the establishment of narrow body floors you would realize that statement is nonsense. They can reduce the NB fleet to a degree, but after the floor is set they will have to replace the DC9 with another 76+ seat acft at the mainline.

~150 pilots have accepted recall and have completed, are in, or scheduled for training. 25/month through mid summer and then some slowing. Attrition through retirements and growth through 330/787 deliveries plus additional 757 flying will drive continued recalls. Once the bottom of the list is reached in several months they will incrementaly recycle the 200+ deferrals and force back off the bottom only as needed. 150+ on long term bypass.

Don't expect hiring until 08'. Recalls stopping or furlough will not happen less a major negative industry event.
