Being reported on FOX as we speak. Judge blocked the FA strike this afternoon.

Welcome to the world of all of you becoming indentured servants. This must be what NWA kept saying they had contingency plans.

Anyone care to bet that Steenland reached out to his law cronies and pushed for this?

This is a temporary injunction, giving the judge time to consider all the arguments and more importantly giving both sides time to come to a consensual agreement. Barring a consensual agreement the F/As will in all likelihood be allowed to strike.

True, but it will be delayed again and again with pressure from Steenland. It is the Golden rule. Those who have the gold make the rules.

I guess we should not criticize any pilot group for taking it for the team; as we can see the right wing judges are all now in place to prevent any up rising by the working class.

Look I have to ask, do people on the right not see that this is really not fair, or correct?

No matter what side of the fight you are on; a company with a collective bargining agreement gets the thing tossed by a third party, then the union employees have no recourse. No union will ever succeed if this sticks, they have no leverage when judges can just TRO it everytime management files at the courthouse.

I don't know what you call this, I guess like someone above said "indentured".

This is rediculous. I can't believe this crap is actually happening. What will union protection bring you when you can't strike? I hope something really bad happens to NWA mgmt.

Ouch... that hurts Daddy when you say that.....

I thought we were playing nice..... why the undercut?

Honestly Rez, it is true and how they have acted over Woerth regime. History speaks for itself.

I would consider myself a right side of the aisle guy. I despise government handouts to some while I get the s*#t taxed out of me. I can list many other beliefs, but I want to stay on task here. It isn't fair. I hope the FA's do get to strike if they so choose. Noone can be FORCED into working under any conditions, so indentured servants would not quite be the correct term. If NWA enacts a contract that is not agreed upon by both parties, all the FA's have do to is quit. Game, set, match.

If they do strike, there won't be anything left to come back to anyway. NWA thinks that they are ahead in the count, but they are only hoping that the FA's will fold like a cheap ALPA suit. If the FA's cave like ALPA, the usefullness of the union has been depleted.

I would like to edit the above to read.... "the PILOTS of ALPA". Why can't a pilot group vote down a crappy TA? I would love to see it happen just once.

Fox news is reporting that the NWA FA's are "seeking higher pay and better work rules." Thats a little different then not giving in to more concessions. No spin there.

Life's like a $h!t sandwich. The more bread you got ... the less $h!t you gotta eat.

Although I am not a fan of DW you can see why ALPA's plan is live to fight an other day.I give them credit for having an idea of the political climate.

Some right wing Republican. Lot of recent legal work prior to his appointment too (1993-1999). Note my emphasis.

You mother ********************er!!! The RR apply to labor but not to MGT??? ******************** You Judge and all the right winger!!!

They should strike anyway, the hell with the federal nazi that issued the ruling. Collectively if they didn't show up for work, the flights wouldn't go. What's next, federal thugs escorting you to airplanes? The ruling is utterly absurd.

Based on what I've read in the newspapers the salaries are already low enough to walk away from that job and NEVER look back. I don't personally understand why anyone would want to serve drinks and be away from home as much as they are for what little pay they do earn. Seems to me that you could earn that (and more) and still be home every night.

Walk! Walk! Do it!

they cant legally strike YET, but as they stated before i see alot of chaos at NWA in the very near future

Let's hope so. Finanacial impacts are the only thing those evil f*cks in management pay attention to. By the way, once you factor out NWA one time bk expenses, NWA is profitable now.

you could have written the script for this.....it all started when the FA union didn't walk the second the new contract was imposed! they WANT to be legally blocked!

Myself and about 30 - 40 thoussand active and retired pilots feel this way. Can you prove me wrong?

I didn't realize you or anyone for that manner represented or even spoke for 30-40k pilots. Heck with those numbers you could turn the tide.

I've no doubt that many pilots feel your way, however I maintain that thier expectations are misaligned. They expect ALPA to fucntion in a way that is unrealistic. Can you prove me wrong?
