How much does a typical line holder make? I know the min. credit is 68 hours and anything over 80 hours is time and a half. Is a typical line 70 hours? I'm sure it varies depending on the aircraft.
It depends on what kind of credit range the pilot picks during bidding and the "monthly max", which varies for every seat in the house.
"Normal" Schedule ~ 79-86 hours
"Wide" Schedule ~ 74-86 hours
"Min" schedule ~ 74-79 hours
"Max" Schedule ~ 83-86 hours
This assumes a 86 hour max, as an example. The pilot picks what range they want as a part of monthly bidding (they may have several, depending on their bidding strategy).
The ranges vary between fleets each month. In March, the DC-9 norm is 73-80. Selecting wide or min would require 68-80 or 68-73. I'm flying 3 4-day trips next month with one day carry in on the 757 with 17 off. Most fleets are up in March max due to spring break increase in flying and many instructors off line teaching with the large amount of movement.
What about reserve. I hear there is a short call and a long call. I've done a search but can't seem to find the actual times. Is it 12 hrs. for long call and 1.5 hrs. for short call?
