Can someone at Northwest please confirm whether or not last year's taxiway collision between a NW A-330 and a Horizon Dash 8 was accepted by your ERC into the ASAP? I don't need any details; a simple yes or no will suffice.

You may have tuft time with that request as I think we use different acronyms.

Interesting, they come right from the FAA AC:

i. Event Review Committee (ERC). A group comprised of a representative from each party to an ASAP MOU. The group reviews and analyzes reports submitted under an ASAP. The ERC may share and exchange information and identify actual or potential safety problems from the information contained in the reports. The ERC is usually comprised of a management representative from the certificate holder, a representative from the employee labor association (if applicable), and a specifically qualified FAA inspector from the CHDO.

How special but we still use different terms. All FAA approved im sure.
Oh c'mon, don't try and tell me you don't understand what the question was. Acronyms be damned, the question was pretty clear.

If it was accepted we wouldn't know because it all private info. And if it wasn't any info we got would be second hand as they don't publish disciplinary action.

Hmmm, ASAP proceedings are confidential. Any information that is released is sanatized for everyone's protection. It even comes with a little wrapper around the memo.

From the tone of your message, it sounds like someone has a bone to pick, so pick elsewhere...

I think you're misinterpreting the tone. I'm pretty sure the question really isn't about bone-picking, but about validating some scare tactics that may be in play against the QX pilot group regarding our adoption of an ASAP.

Just a hunch, but I think I'm right.

If the gentleman wanted validation of a question he shouldn't ask for a yes or no answer. So far NASAP works well for us.

Agreed. The NASAP program at NWA works exceptionally well, and is head and shoulders above the NASA ASRS as far as protecting pilots while getting some very useful data.

For a properly set up program, I can't imagine a pilot or management group that would say no.

But you see, a yes or no answer was all that was needed to accomplish the task. I think he was deliberately avoiding specifics of the incident so as not to stir anything up. Guess it didn't work. Guess no one knows, or ain't sayin'.

It's not a question of whether ASAP works well for you -- glad it does, sincerely. Question was whether someone unrelated to NW is telling the truth or just trying to scare QX pilots.

Boy, it's tough to get good intentions across on this board sometimes.

Wow, it usually takes a dozen posts or so before someone gets her panties in a wad and sends a thread careening off track-7 must be some sort of a record.

RTFQ.

Still it's NASAP not ASAP.. LOL. The guys on the third floor like to put a little personal touch on it I'm sure.

I've asked a dozen people to tell me what that could possibly mean in the context of this thread and not a one had a clue.

My question was a simple one. The incident I referred to is not a secret; anyone who reads the paper knows that it happened. It is also not clear that this sort of incident would be accepted into an ASAP as a routine matter. Anyone wondering where the line excluding an incident from the protection afforded by ASAP is drawn would naturally be curious about how something that could have gone either way was handled. It's not a whole lot more complicated than yes or no.
