How long was Northwest operating before their pilots voted in a union?

The reason I ask is that I have heard a lot of stories from JB guys getting denied jumpseats on NW. One captain told the gate agent to inform the JB pilot that he could jumpseat when JB got a union.

Wonder if this same captain allows jumpseaters from SkyWest or if he's just P.O'ed at JB.

NWA had the very first ALPA council. Council 1 is still up in MSP. As for JBlue, I've heard a lot about that, and there was even a discussion about it on the ALPA national boards, but I think it's only a few trouble-makers. I don't think it's a wide-spread problem.
