Now all you regional guys can fight over flying 70 seaters for 50 bucks an hour. Enjoy!

51 plus 36 to replace the AVRO's.

Huh? Details? Source?

It will be sad to see who will fly for the cheapest just to get bigger and more shiny jets. I feel for the Mesabe guys and gals! At least AWAC won't take pay cuts just to take Mesaba and Pncl flying. Way to go NW people-should have never let that scope go away.

Is that 51 firm orders plus 36 options? What does that mean? Also, there must be some additional planes being added to the mainline fleet, like for every two 70 seaters one mainline bird? Right?

LOL....this thread just got GL's panties into a wad!!!

This was expected. Everyone has 70 seaters. Now, I would have my panties up in a wedgy if they were larger than 70 seats! You have to replace those 50 seaters with something, they are dragging us down in revenue.

Bye Bye--General Lee

Just remember..........Don't turn your nose up at whoever is flying them, whether it's 9E or XJ or someone else - you guys gave them up (allegedly)!

Incorrect. CAL does not, so we don't have 'em at Expressjet, and odds are good that we won't get them. This is a GOOD thing.

CAL has scoped them to make sure that CAL pilots fly them. This is good.

As far as maybe getting them to fly for another carrier... Doubtful. We are too expensive. We will not fly them for peanuts like Mesa, Skywest and Chiniqua. We demand a linear wage for the increased size which is going to keep us out of the 70 seat market. You won't see us getting any NWA 70 seat contracts because of this.

The Mesa and Chiniqua cancer will just spread further IMHO. I hope it can be stopped before this disease becomes terminal for the industry.

so did every other airline that tossed scope out the window....what makes you so sure the cal guys won't back down and give it up too?

i do think scope is a very good thing. i don't want to be stuck at regional pay forever and would like to move up to the majors even if it is flying a 70 seater but everyone else has given it up i'd like to know why you're so sure cal won't be forced into it.

also...most of us have this which again is a good thing. BUT when management tells you you either take what we give you or we close the doors and start a 'new company' most people take what's handed to them. XJT luckily hasn't been put in this position....YET.

don't get me wrong...i'm furloughed and would rather stay furloughed than take a paycut but that's me. i want my job back but i also want paid fairly.

Bring it on.

Don't mean to beat a dead horse, but who is the source?

Actually, in the last concession go-around at CAL, management didn't even express an interest in scope. The CAL pilots asked for 50 seat scope, which was down from 69 seat scope, and management said great that isn't an issue with us. CAL doesn't want 70 seat jets. They have said for years that their is no market for them in their system with the 50 seat XRJ and the 737-500. That is what they say and I beleive that they are serious because CAL management doesn't seem to care about scope restrictions on 70 seaters.

Can anyone decode this?

my guess is 51 plus one for one trade on the avros. does not mean that xj is going to replace the avros.

Of course they are going to give up scope. All the DC-9 and Airbus FO's have been running around saying that Scope is a strike issue. Funny thing is that noone informed the 10 and 747 captains of this.

Please post a source...Where are these numbers coming from?

This is just Flame Bait

There is no credible source for this rumor. I checked with a few friends that fly NWA, they tell me no way not without a vote.

He's probably quoting me from two weeks ago, this is old news. NWA rejected the 70 seat scope offer the pilots gave up. NewCo is still on the table. Actually, he probably just got around to reading the court documents, 70 seats, scope, pay rates, it's all there. READ the court documents, you will learn more.

Hope you don't snag your tampon string, ASA and Skywest have CRJ90 hulls with 76 seats on order.

Too bad they will have to put 70 seats in them. How inefficient. And they will probably be paid 50 seat wages for them too.

Bye Bye--General Lee

I bet PCL-128 would be willing to fly them @ 50 seat wages. Heck I bet he'd be willing to pay to fly those 70 seaters.

darnit...i just saw that one of the moderators is quiting because of general lee was banned and then let back in......i see how the crap that he starts bad bashing of regionals....he never has info right and is full of crap.....oh...how do we read the court documents? are they posted somewhere?

I thought NWA gave up NEWCO weeks ago. Didn't they?

I agree. Hard to hold a line that other pilot groups have given up.

Hey boy wonder, ASA has a rate for the 70 seat that is greater than the 50. But you being the "Moak" lover that you are already knew that.

Why does a mainline pilot spend soo much time on the regional board?
