Lear

Reference your job info, request. Don't know of any actual flying jobs, but Flight Safety in ATL was lookinG for Lear instructors (45 and 31).

Good luck from the north end of concorse C. Hope it all works out for you.

I am sorry I already quit but I would have been in favor of a true show of support that would send a message. Of course illegal job actions are not encouraged nor supported by the NPA but there was a bad stomach bug floating around. I know 2 pilots who got sick for their trip. With there time off they are trying to think of a way to show support for our fellow brother who stuck out his neck for all of us.If you have not already applied for another job you are dreaming that this airline will ever support the pilot group.

Hang in there Lear... I'll keep an eye out for Lear jobs.

This is nothing but management intimidation... don't let it get to you. You'll get your job back with apologies and backpay. Anything short of that should be unacceptable.

Good luck buddy!

Any sort of support from your fellow pilots towards mgmt? If so, it should send a clear note to the boys in MCO. If not, too bad for the remaining pilots employed by Forklift Joe and his team. This is only the beginning and looks like mgmt has shown their hand in how they deal with someone who has the 'nads to stand up for what is right. For the rest, watch carefully, you could or will be next.

Lear, someone with your commitment and focus should not go down in flames. Sad thing, I have seen this tactic used before with previous employers. I saw mgmts way of thinking from my first day at the Tranny, reason I left and never looked back. Best of luck, sounds like job leads are headed your way (as they should).

Here's the trick: yes, if you get fired for union activity, you eventually will get your job back with back pay. The kicker is that it is likely you'll work in the meantime, and the company will only be liable for the difference between what you earned at your new job and what you would have earned at your old one.

So they're not out a whole lot of money and the scare tactic works wonders on the other recalcitrants.

Good luck, this is union-busting 101.

I know someone this happened to and they got an overseas job while they waited out the long process. At that jobhe made considerably more than he was making anyway. When it was all over he got full back pay from the company and a civil settlement.

Maybe the law has changed since then, but I doubt it. If that is somehow true, then I'd live off savings and loans from family members before I have those dirt bags the satisfaction of lowering my payout. Why work for free?

First off, like everyone else has already stated, the fact that our King Lear70 was issued a termination letter sux the high hard one. I skimmed the posts to avoid repetition (sorry if I missed one) but I heard that 3 others besisdes RM were also given letters. I know 2 of them and I'm waiting to hear from them about their story.

I heard through the grapevine (as we all know it is 75% accurate) that Philpot could be our next chief pilot???? If, indeed, that is true, I guess that would explain why he was pushing the latest shiny turd (aka TA2) so hard?

Anyone else hear anything or did my latest red-eye cloud my faculties?

No FPs not getting KP in the TP on the QT. I think he's actually extending a bit, say 6 mos. Anyway, I guess his term is up. We will definitely not get a better CP than him.

Another rumor: I hear we're getting 2 pilots on the FA hiring board.:D

I flew my trip as scheduled--with nary an ASAP report or NASA report for that matter.
I can neither confirm nor deny that I went to the concert. But I will say that it's not everyday that George Clinton and Parliment Funkadelic gives you all access passes to their concert. I was called truly "Funkadelic" by members of the band and I do have my "I Want the White Boy Deal" T-shirt and CD.

Hang Dog

PS "S'cuse me while I whip dis out!"

Copies of the NPA's rebuttal to the rebuttal are over at the training center. At least two boxes of the whole 40 some page document were sitting up by the computers. It was sure nice of the company to let the NPA have such unfettered access to the pilot group at the training center. I hope this is precedent setting for when we have new leadership that might want to put info out over there. Up to this point, I thought the only union activity that went on at the training center was only what was obligatory by the CBA. Normally the only propoganda you see there is pro age 65 and how good RJs are for the industry.

Lear,

Even though I disagreed with your blanket bashings of the NWA pilot group(we are all not pussies) I always admired your research and detailed reports. Now, please put your stuff in at NWA. This place will get better, but we need some young blood with the ability to write a convincing/reasonable response to both the company/union retorique. Would be proud to share a cockpit with a TRUE UNIONIST such as yourself. PS I would by all the beer:) This profession would not be in the shape it is in if we had 100%, hell 50% the fire I have seen from you. Take care and good luck.

I never meant to bash the WHOLE group, my apologies if it came across that way, just the guys who were the "sign whatever they give us so we can keep the gravy train going at the top" types.

I know a sizable number of you will do the right thing over there, and I'd be proud to fly (or walk the line) alongside you.

Thanks for the encouragement, I really appreciate the kind words from everyone, truly...

I don't know how successful I will be at obtaining a position anywhere with a fresh termination on my record, and it's likely to be a long time before we can get it to Arbitration (I doubt the company will budge at System Board, but I've been wrong before).

I'll still be working on it, but it's going to be a tough road for job seeking for a while methinks.
