Skybus Airlines vice president of operations announces resignation

Wednesday, April 2, 2008 11:15 AM
By Marla Matzer Rose

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH
Bud Sittig, one of Skybus Airlines’ longest-tenured employees, has resigned as vice president of operations for the airline. The move comes one week after the abrupt departure of Chief Executive Bill Diffenderffer and his replacement by former Skybus chief financial officer Mike Hodge.
Sittig has been with Skybus since late 2004, two and a half years before the airline started flying in May 2007. Before that, he rose through the ranks at Delta Air Lines as a pilot, manager of flight operations and director of flight safety. He was also a longtime reservist with the National Guard.
Skybus spokesman Bob Tenenbaum said a replacement for Sittig has not been named.
In a letter to Skybus employees, Sittig said his resignation “will be effective with the orderly transfer of responsibilities to the new director of operations in the coming days.”
He explained his decision for leaving, saying he felt "out of step" with some of the issues affecting day-to-day operations. He urged employee support for new CEO Hodge.

I am sure they can cash in their company stock once they leave. There might be a waiting period but now they are free to cash in on your demise. This stuff just Sucks

dude,
they can't cash in squat. it never went public. they got options just like the pilots..they're worthless if you leave before the vesting period and you cannot sell a privately held security. cannot use it to collaterize bank loans or get a car.

lastly, there is no equity... they're losing money, using borrowed captial and have never made a profit. what makes you think the stock options are worth a nanocent?

i trying to think of the lyrics of the song you're talking about...was it something dolly parton sang on american idol last night?

He's obviously a rocket surgeon.
Now that's funny!:D ...and speaking for rocket surgeons everywhere I would just like to remind everyone if you think its easy try operating on them while they're moving!

Some may speculate that these two officers were removed for "not cutting it," others may speculate that they are bailing out like rats from a sinking ship.

Ummmmm, I'll take door number TWO Monty!

What do y'all think? Will Skybus be number 4 to go down this week? It's still early morning Thursday so there's time.

Naw it's still early...ALPO isn't on the property yet!

the numbers don't lie. i can't see a future of continued losses between 5 and 10 mil a month making sense to wall steeters...but then again, these fools just lost their arse in hedge fuunds tied to subprime mortgages. yep, i think they could be #4.

Hey BUD..you suck, peace of sh*t.

Number 2 gone
$50.00 on USAIRWAYS boy is next....GOD BLESS..hehehe

you have to wait for the CFO to quit then start sending your apps out. When the money man is gone all is lost. Well its probably lost overthere anyway.

The answer to the entire problem is THE LITTLE IRISH MORON....He has been the causing problems from day one when he came into the Skybus picture. NOW acting as the new CFO....cut the cancer from the source. Every dog has there day....here is your day...enjoy.
