I knew someone would make a chidish post about the size of their operation....Congrats guys for job well done and blow off trip's comment.

Ah the miracle of statistics

That's a fair point, but they still earned it. No one will read that article and fly Hawaiian from Sarasota to Seoul. If their great performance is isolated predominately to one small fishbowl market, then so isolated is their revenue market.

The context of that statement is like bashing JetBlue for our less than stellar on time performance lately. Yes, we earned those negative stats. But, when you look at the fact that we send flights no matter how late, and hold flights for our (few) connecting people, you see our stats highly skewed. If we cancelled whenever it would save money and save a late departure, you'd see far superior stats.

But to avoid screwing a couple dozen folks, we'll roll out a 320 to do their E190 flight that was only a quarter full to begin with. Loses money and on times for now, but keeps the customers happy and likely to return next time. No wonder other airlines have to undercut us so much to fill their buckets.

So congrats Hawaiian. You've earned it.

and heres......................................................................the SWA/FO..

Great Job HAWAIIAN! Way to go baby!

What's really amazing is that ATA made the top 5 in two of those categories. ;)

I'm amazed as well, Brad.

Nice job. Funny thing is......... apparently we can piss them off, get them there late, AND lose their bags but they still LUV us. Gotta love it.

SWAFO should be chiming in any time now.

Just a question. Does SWA still call their Out and In time over the radio or do you guys have ACARS?

I'm sure SWAFO would know and how about the other ON Time leaders?

Just an observation.....

If you're on time you're not trying hard enough. Heck, SWA or UAL, or Crackerbox Airline could be #1 on time EVERY month is we/you had one or two hour turns every leg.

Gup

actually we will go to acars times in march. we all thought things would get screwed up, but the company tells us that the reported times and the acars( all of the aircraft already report the times) times are very very close. You will actually see our ontime performance drastically improve for jan and subsequent months due to the fact we can now push 5 min early if all revenue and non revenue pax are accounted for. Past three days were 88.6,92.0, and87.0. So all the bs about how we lie about times is quite inaccurate, actually myself and many other report times as they are so the company can figure out what the problem is. Like the previous poster said anybody can be on time with an 45 min turn

Good point about the pushing 5 early for the Non-Revers. If your going to jump seat on SWA and you think you might be running late, List or you might get left. I've been using the times off the FMC so they match up, unless the ops agent is someone I like. ;)

Anyone see that episode where the "Hootergirlesque" SWA agents were dragging the older asian couple outside between terminals to meet a connection? I thought the old man was going to have a heart attack right there on TV! One of the agents was shrieking into the radio "Where is Korea Air? I'm trying to find Korea Air!". I think they might have thought they were being abducted. Did it even occur to them there might have been a better way to get those folks over to the other terminal? We are all really in the toilet in the US airline business when this passes for customer service.

On another note: remember when SWA would get the awards for baggage service and they didn't even connect your bags? You had to do it yourself! The only thing more ridiculous than them getting the award was that they actually accepted it! Legacy carriers working a hub with international connections would lose the award to a domestic airline that made the customer connect the bags! Lovely.

That's because we didn't connect the pax either. We are point to point service. No Interlining service.

We can almost be ontime with 25 mins scheduled on the ground. Yea!
We used to do 10 min turns and were #1 in ontime so lets not get too cocky until we get fiigure out where we are screwing up and get it fixed.

Not tossing bait here just food for thought for my fellow SWA.
When was the last time you helped clean the cabin?

OK. It just makes accepting the award pretty darn tacky, doesn't it?

I don't think so. We contracted to take the pax and their luggage from A to B. That is what we did. If you scored lower because the interline bags were getting lost then you (whoever doesn't matter) need to solve the mystery of the lost luggage. I've had mainline carriers lose my luggage on a direct flight ie, BOS-DFW. How the hell does that happen.
I am embarrassed that we are currently scoring so poorly, without interlining to blame it on.

Flop, come on buddy, your living a champaigne life on a beer budget.

Flapgut,

Go have a beer, watch "airline" and get a good nights sleep. You'll feel better.

yeah..same at fedex...Fred must have brainwashed us too..but we want MORE!!!

It is amazing to me that many of the "experts" on this board that claim to know the ins and outs an airline, don't have a clue.

Keep posting, because the more you do the more you prove you don't have a clue.

The funny thing is the "experts" won't have a clue that I'm talking about them, they will think I'm talking about someone else.
