For you Pinnacle and Mesaba guys....what exactly was the language in the NW pilots last agreement regarding RJ's. I thought they allowed mgt to turn the 44 seaters into 50 seaters...

But wasn't there something in there about future flying only going to another regional? Is this true and what about the rest of the RJ's Pinnacle has on option?

Thanks

I'm not sure about the scope part of it but I do know that the rest of the 139 jets going to Pinnacle won't be affected by the latest agreement. And I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but the way the I understand it is that Pinnacle doesn't have any options on CRJ's - all of the jets and existing options (175 if I'm not mistaken) are owned by Northwest.

PNCL has never had any options. All options are owned by NWA and then allocated to Pinnacle, for now. I would expect an NWA to announce the next batch of deliveries in the next few months. I think the current delivery schedule for Pnnacle runs out around the middle of the year. If they are going to allocate some to XJ they need to let them know now so they can get everything in order that goes with a new fleet type. I doubt that NWA wants the deliveries to stop. I think that NWA really wants 70 and 90 seat RJ's, and until that can come to an agreement with their pilots they will continue to ration out the CRJ's at a rate of 10-20 a time.

Hi!

NWA was allowed to add, I believe, 40 RJs from an outside operator (not Pinnacle/Mesaba). As I understand it, this was done so that if UAir goes Chapter 7, NWA can IMMEDIATELY add a feeder(s) with up to 40 RJs to start feed service to airports previously served by the UAir system.

Also, future 70 seaters or bigger will all be flown by NWA pilots. Negotiations for the 70 seat pay/work rules weren't included in the current agreement.
