For what it is worth, the Feb. Apa due out on/about the 20th will have Nov. 95 hires as msp320 reserve capts. you read it here first

True. It was out on the 15th. Also DC9 Reserve Captain are now May 98 hires.

Suprised at the number of 747 SO positions. Maybe the Ropes are finally retiring/dying as age 65 drags out and the TDC lawsuit appears to be dead.....

How are the 747 S/O schedules. They told us some new hires will be getting those and was curious what its like. Are they all out of ANC?

Confirmed. Over 45 DC-9 Captain awards, so I don't think that fleet is going anywhere in a big hurry. I think what Richard Anderson said in 1999 is still true...the last DC-9 Captain for NWA has yet to be born....

Considering the junior blockholder 1996 hire, I don't think any new hires will see anything but a DC-9 or maybe the bus. Beware of what you "hear" at NATCO, too much time on people's hands.

I heard that too, but when they called and talked about classes they did say there will be a few. I'd prefer to be based in DTW on the -9, very easy commute.

I know several recently hired pilots who were told they may go to the -200 panel in ANC.

They do plan to keep flying the -9s for the foreseeable future. They cost very little since they're paid for lock, stock and barrel.

That's not entirely true. During the bankruptcy, NWA leveraged all of the DC-9s to the hilt. I don't think any of them are free from debt now.

I can't really say for sure. Mr Steenland wouldn't let me see the books.
