Anyone use this airport...all comments welcome

Thanks

It's been a couple of years, however the Queens flight is based there, and delays are always possible w/o much notice if she goes flying, the whole place will shut down. The handling folks were always real good about everything, and the service was fine. Everything is run by the military of course, and make sure you wear your high vis. vest, and DON'T remove the chocks, let them do it! The runway is a bit short, and the approaches are less than desirable. The airport is slot controlled, and since EJA seems to grab them pretty quick, it was difficult at times to get them, so we'd head to EGGW.

I used to use Northolt a lot when I was in the military and could arrive and depart as Operational Air Traffic rather than General Air Traffic, even though the Officer's Mess was a bit stuffy.

Now, due the difficulty of getting in and out of the facility, I go elsewhere.

There's just way too many good GA airports around London to mess with the restrictions, IMO.TC

AA717 has stated the problems correctly. It is not worth it using Northolt. Too many other options.
