In Charlotte, there's Package Express. They mainly fly checks in Lances and Senecas. I don't know their number and I don't think they have a web site, but I've seen job postings for them on
www.climbto350.com. They're building an office/hangar at the Concorde airport. Go there around 5 p.m. and hang out on the ramp. You'll should run into some of their pilots.
You'll also see a bunch of Ram Air Freight planes and pilots, which is where I work. We do the same thing, but based out of Raleigh, although we have several outstations, including Concorde. The web site is
www.ramairfreight.com. Fun place to work with a great bunch of guys, although pay leaves a lot to be desired. These days, though, to get hired requires pretty much an internal recommendation.
Other than that, I don't know of any cargo companies that are based in NC, although some of the national companies (ie. Airnet) have pilot domisciles here.
