I dont know if youve checked yet but at CLT theres Saber Cargo wth C-402s, DC3s, and a DA-20. Im not sure its still in business but here ued to be a Convair operator in Gastonia. Best of luck!

The CLT area ? Someplace squirreldog and apilot have been unable to prod a trip into.

In Charlotte, there's Package Express. They mainly fly checks in Lances and Senecas. I don't know their number and I don't think they have a web site, but I've seen job postings for them on www.climbto350.com. They're building an office/hangar at the Concorde airport. Go there around 5 p.m. and hang out on the ramp. You'll should run into some of their pilots.

You'll also see a bunch of Ram Air Freight planes and pilots, which is where I work. We do the same thing, but based out of Raleigh, although we have several outstations, including Concorde. The web site is www.ramairfreight.com. Fun place to work with a great bunch of guys, although pay leaves a lot to be desired. These days, though, to get hired requires pretty much an internal recommendation.

Other than that, I don't know of any cargo companies that are based in NC, although some of the national companies (ie. Airnet) have pilot domisciles here.

Mountain Air cargo in Denver, N.C. which is just a few minutes north of CLT is still hiring. Even better, they will eventually get ATR-42s in freighter config to replace those old mother Fokkers.

Of course. Don't know why I didn't think of them since a good friend of mine flew for them for years. In that same vein, there's Mid-Atlantic Freight in Greensboro, which flies Caravans for UPS and others. Go to www.atlanticaero.com and click on the Mid-Atlantic link.
