They would be retiring early at 55 1/2 yrs or older and can get a monthly payment from their retirerment account penalty free of around $16,000 per month on interest alone so this years prof sharing doesn't matter much

I don't know where you got your numbers from but I sure wish you worked for us so that I could get that kind of money

i based it on stock options worth about 1 mill and profit sharing of 10% times 150K times 20 yrs plus ave 13% interest and a contribution from the employee of 5% per year compounded, the IRS will figure a return on all that and "force" you to take the monthly payout for 5 years min. That is for a Capt that started at 30 years old and retired at 50. i don't know how many fit this profile but i am sure there are some.
PS, that is for 1 Wife and no more than 1 Daughter in 20 years!!!
