The NE Ohio area is probably one of the most difficult areas for low timers. Most of the 135 operators at CLE, CAK, BKL, etc, etc, are over saturated with plenty of high time guys who are very qualified. You pretty much need to know someone that will get you in, not a very easy task. There is alot of "politics" that go into this in this area as well...I think the only operator that "tailors" a program for the "low timers" is Castle at CAK and I surely would stay away from them since it is PFT. You may want to contact Don Phillips who operates a 350 at 4G4, he may be able to work you in for some right seat time but without a type rating the time is "useless" since Gasser Chair Inc. strictly operates the plane under part 91 and you will not be able to log your right seat time. Experience.? Yes, but I think this would be a waste of time for the most part. I would highly suggest that you instruct when you are able to do so.

Bad area for someone like yourself who is looking to get a foot in the door. You may want to post a resume or something along those lines up wth Jet Center or Air Services (CLE) and maybee they can help you out. Lotsa stuff going on but most operators/owners are going to be very selective...

good luck,

I'd have to say that 350 is 100% correct. Finding turbine time or just about any 135 time in NE Ohio is far from easy. It's all who you know in this area. Try and find some charter guys who will help you out with who to talk to at the various companies in the area. Good luck,
TJ

i realized it was gonnna be hard...look slike i have my work cut out for me...

350 thanks for the info...i never planed on looking into the operation at CAK...from all the guys that i've ever talked to that flew for them only two people ever said any thing positive...

I'm gonna have some sore knuckles from knocking on doors, but i guess that's what needs to be done, thanks

Hard work, a good attitude, good work ethics, and skills should help you out in your quest. Keep at it.

They have some highly skilled and talented pilots but the management and company as a whole surely operates on some "questionable" principles. I would stay far away from the PFT scam which I am sure you will.

I would evaluate your flight times and experience and from there you should be able to make somewhat of an educated guess on where or where not to go. It does not hurt to try, success is usually obtained through some failures and bumps along the road.

good luck,
