fyi, I am sitting in mccarran airport (las) right now on free wireless, very unusual for an airport terminal to have free wireless, at least in my experience.

FLL has free wireless in all terminals too. Anyone know of other airports that have it (other then LAS, of course)?

Wyndhams have free wireless if you are a By-Request member. You'll also get a goodie basket of things you can choose from.....I get the cheese and crackers and two free bottles of beer! Sweet deal and its free, they also upgrade your room to a suite if its available..even on an FBO or airline rate (we asked). They arent 5 star, but most can be pretty close.

ABQ has it in the airport too for free.

A lot of the upper end hotels where you may more to stay, also charge you for things midrange hotels (holiday inn express, comfort suites) do not charge for, like internet, breakfast, etc.

Overseas, most hotels will charge for you internet. It was that way in Greenland, Oman, India. The idea of free hotel internet hasnt really caught on, plus in places like india, comparable hotel rooms are actually more expensive than in US, are smaller too.

The more expensive the hotel, the more they charged you for internet.

I find it interesting that someone started a thread about free wireless at the hotels, because I recently started keeping track of who does and who doesn't on our overnights. There's no sense in lugging my laptop around, taking it out for security and puting it back (yes, I'm that lazy that I would complain about that) if I'm not going to be able to use it when I get to the hotel.

I've started doing the same. Was on a 3 nighter last week, and not one hotel had free internet. I dragged around that thing for nothing for 4 days!

Of course, the best part is finding room in the overheads for a 22" rollerboard, flight case and laptop case when an aircraft is full and Im last onboard.

Huh, so far I haven't hit one yet where it isn't.?? A couple of times I called the desk when I saw a price but both times they said it's only for non-rewards members and gave me a code.
This is interesting, I am a Marriott Platinum Member, I have never heard about this... Does this work at international Marriott's as well?

Ditto for TUL as well, and they've it had for about a year and a half now - well before I saw it anywhere else. Who would've thunk TUL would be ahead of the digital scene! :p

I vaguely remembering PHX having it as well the last time I was there.

The rule of thumb for determing which airport/FBO doesn't have wireless internet is directly related to whether or not I have brought along my laptop. For sure if I bring it, they won't have it. If I don't bring it, they will have it.

Good question, we don't really do europe but wer're in Mexico quite often but I haven't stayed at a Marriot down there in awhile. I can say that the Crowne Plaza in Toluca has free wireless on the Club floor but is still installing it. Last I heard Marriot Cancun was offering it but also not in all rooms, and the Mexico City full-serv in Polano has wireless throughout and they didn't charge me as of a couple of months ago.

As to your original question, sorry for babbling, I don't know. It worked for me a couple of times in the past year, and I'm gold, one would think you'd have a better chance at platinum.
