Just because they can work past 60 doesn't mean they have to be a captain.

I say if an Airline pilot wants to continue past 60 put him in the right seat. This way those junior don't get as screwed as they could be and it saves the airlines some $$$ as well.

I think the age 60 rule will be yanked eventually but the seniority list belongs to the union so they can contractually do whatever they want with the gummers.

If the rule is changed the indivdual airline groups should get to decide how they want to work it. The MAJORITY rules.

Hopefully they will rehire them at their senority and pay when they left and send you guys back down the line where you belong. At EAL it used to take 20 years to make captain, I would say a few made it a little early with the last economic hiring and blast.
What does that little slice of past history prove?
EAL once hired private pilots and paid for their commercial liscense too.
Should we bring back flight engineers as well?

If guys weren't leaving EAL at age 60 back then it would have been a 25+ year upgrade instead of 20.

Not at all.But I am sure it will get a few of you mad when you are faced with that reality.
Are we a tad bit bitter? If what you said is truly how you feel, the industry is better off without grumpy old ass holes like you around.
