Just did the last update to 9.41, alerts and annunciations work if I highlight the Aux tab on the config page and it holds that setting. I think I'll coast and wait for fallout before I update again. Let me know what the 500 foot audio alert sounds like, curious how they would improve that.

In true Garmin fashion, the release is BAD and again poorly tested and hence we wait for one, two, or three more versions to get it right. As a software guy, I don't get it, why experimental releases appear to be untested releases. Anyways, I digress, but I went to install 9.50 today and my GTR 20 remote failed to update which puts it in an update loop. Fortunately it's discussed on the Van's Aircraft forum and @craig.roser armed me with the knowledge should it occur which is to pull all breakers except PFD and COM2. After doing that the GTR 20 updated.
