I was denied the actual last night ORD IAH. The CAL agent couldn't tell me exactly why, was this guy full of it? Anyone heard of this?

I've ridden on Shuttle America and CAL mainline with no problems in the past.

I think they are often weight restricted. If the agent won't give you a reason I would ask to speak with the Captain.

CAL hasn't figured out how to utilize the CRJ yet - sending it on long routes, then wondering why pax get bumped.

Also, I was led to believe tha XJT has lighter standard pax weights than we do, any XJTers have their std weight info?

I was led to believe that standard pax weights come from the FAA and don't really vary much from carrier to carrier. Is that not the case?

XJT weights
Passenger Summer - 184lbs
Winter - 189
Checked bags - 30
Gate checked bags - 20

Thanks, just as some suspected ours our heavier to the tune of around 400lbs on a loaded airplane. Gate checked bags for example are 30lbs for us. Our POI is a real pain in the ass. I can only hope that our managers are at least trying to push this issue, or investing in the mods avail to the CRJ that allow for more weight. Would be nice to get those on teh ERJ too.

The ops guys in MCI were complaining about CHQ last week and said that their pass weights were higher than XJT and that they use 30 lbs for all bags including gate checked... They said they had to pull 8 bags on a flight that was booked full with 5500lbs of gas just to it get outa there.

Again, I can only hope that the higher ups have this on the list of things to change. Pax are 190/195.
