Hello,

My boss it looking to suppliment the company airlift capabilities. Could you please provide an insight into the following issues:
  1. Can you travel with a German Sheppard Internationally on the Gulfstream 550 programme? ( destination has no restriction).
  2. If travel was for 30 days each trip ( sitting) would the crew be cycled out ( due to scheduling) and flown back to USA?
  3. Do you have to travel with an FA?
  4. Are there strict rules on baggage location? (He carries more than we can usually fit in baggage compartment) I am aware of safety issues, I am purely looking at NJI policy on aircaft getting beaten up knowing there is more than one owner.
Thankyou.

Hope this helps.

Hello,

My boss it looking to suppliment the company airlift capabilities. Could you please provide an insight into the following issues:
  1. Can you travel with a German Sheppard Internationally on the Gulfstream 550 programme? ( destination has no restriction).
Yes you can it can look like noah's ark back there for all we care.

Depends on the trip. Sometimes these trips come up and the crew volunteers for a trip like that. If it is fly every day the crew is going to burn out. But if its fly a day sit a couple of days you'll probably keep the same crew. Although on a trip like that the cost of airlining home is so minimal its probably less that 1 percent.
  1. Do you have to travel with an FA?
No passengers can either get trained on how to do the stuff back there or they can bring their own chef's personal assistants whatever.
  1. Are there strict rules on baggage location? (He carries more than we can usually fit in baggage compartment) I am aware of safety issues, I am purely looking at NJI policy on aircaft getting beaten up knowing there is more than one owner.
This I'm not sure where you are going but I have only had one passenger load the plane beyond the baggage compartment. I doubt your owner is going to pack more than some of the traveling celebrity's we have. trust me.
Thankyou.

1. You cannot travel with a dog to an unrestricted destination. 6 month quarantine for the UK.

2. If trip was thirty days and he just sat he would lose the plane unless he agrees to pay the daily rate to keep it there. We do this all the time.

3. As far as the 550 if he has more than 10 pax he has to have an FA on board as that is required by the limitations for the airplane. Otherwise he does not need one.

4. He can bring all the luggage he likes.

Clear as mud.

Just curious, why you are talking company policy to a complete stranger on an anonymous chat board?

Respectfully, I suggest that you call NJI and ask them in person.

Good luck.

Because people do it all the time here?

That's right, this board is only for rumors......

Hey Captain Dad,

What company policy??????????

Carrying pets, Airplanes sitting for 30 days, FA on an airplane you know nothing about, carrying bags?

How about the next big company announcement?

Keep us informed.........

What company policy? Ohhh no you can't bring all the baggage you want? Fido has to stay home?

pppaaahllease.

For those of you who have been kind enough to offer your opinion, thank you.

In the past when our GV has been down we have had problems with:
  1. His dogs being on charter aircraft.
  2. Having cases in cabin.
  3. keeping an aircaft for duration of stay at 3 hour mimimums per day.
Many owners do not want animals on their airplane which I can understand, dander, faeces. Especially if you only own 25%.

Concerning the cabin; our cabin is beaten up, it has turned into a volvo rather than a luxury means of travel.

If we bought into Net jets ect, a typical 30 day trip would equate to either 90 hrs of minimums or alot of ferrying and their is NO free ferrying to our destination.

One more question: for Crew changes on International trips do you fly Business or Econ?

Thanks

I can tell you that a dog in the cabin is no problem as long as we're not going to the UK or Hawaii or any other destination which requires inbound quarantine (although there's even a way around that in Hawaii).

I can tell you a lot of bags isn't a problem so long as everything can be secured for takeoff and landing (although the crews will begin to talk and after a while nobody will volunteer for extended trips with your boss. We dread trips with the moving van types).

What I can't tell you is what the billing policy would be for an extended trip where your boss wanted to keep the plane with him. It just depends on the contract and the what kind of agreement is reached between the company and the client. Some people seem to think every contract is identical: they're not. Many contracts have "accomodations" written into them to address the particular concerns of that particular client. Whatever it takes, within reason, to get the client to sign, the salesman will do.

As for international crew changes, which are routine at NJI, the crews travel Business Class or better. Typically, if the crew change is for the company's convenience, it's on NJI's tab. If the crew change is required to meet the demands of the trip, the client pays.

Finally, I do recommend you get in touch with a member of the Netjets sales staff to answer your questions. Just remember one thing: take any operational answer they give you with a few grains of salt. We at NJI do our best to meet or exceed the client's expectations everyday. But sometimes the salespeople raise the operational expectations just a bit higher than we can meet. That's why they are salespeople.
