I got a duplicate mailing too, and was wondering the same thing. For what it's worth, since the union doesn't seem to be allowed, it seems, to use company emailings, I spit off a bunch of bcc blackberry emails to classmates and people I've flown, reminding them of the deadline and who to call if they are unaware of their lost/junk mail-ignored ballot info. I was two for two in tours with people who wore NJSAP lanyards yet seemed unaware of the ballots or vote deadline.

I voted and sent in my automatic dues deduction form. Now I get home from my trip, and the my mail awaits me. I have to vote again and fill out another form for dues deduction. Or do I?

No, you don't. Keep in mind that NJASAP doesn't have an office staff yet, and all of this (including the mailings) is done on a volunteer basis. They're currently working on cataloging who's sent their application/checkoff form in and who hasn't. If you got a duplicate mailing, it does not mean your other stuff wasn't received.

As for the voting, make sure it's the telephone vote you did. I've run into several folks who think that sending that card in was their vote -- it isn't.

CA1900 is correct, but www.njasap.com is the right place to ask that question. Many more people in the know over there.

Voting closes today. When will the results be ready? NJW mentioned July 11 as the NJASAP Independence Day. Will it take that long to certify the results? Good luck either way, guys. I'm sure you all made the right decision regardless of the outcome.

The final count was available shortly after the poll closed...thanks to telephonic voting. Those with access to the NJASAP board and/or a NJA pilot will be able to learn exactly how big the margin was. I was told not to publicly release the final numbers, but suffice it to say that the goal of independence was extremely popular among NJ pilots. ;) Our NJ families can buy extra fireworks for the 11th. The NJ Association becomes the official representative of the NJA pilots that day.
