Earlier today the IBT and NetJets came to an agreement (LOA) on the transfer of pilots hired after November 21, 2005 between the 5 domiciles.

Details to follow.

Just read the LOA. Finally some good news for the guys who want to change domiciles! Not perfect, but looks like the short of it is something like this:

The company will put out vacancies for domicile AND fleet/position. Say you are a 400xp guy who is currently domiciled in CMH, but want to move to DAL. When the company puts out a vacancy for: DAL 400xp SIC, you are free to bid and move to the new domiclie. If the bid is DAL CE560 SIC, you would not be allowed to bid that domicile spot.

As always, there is a catch. Upon transfering domiciles, you cannot transfer again for two years (domicile locked). But it looks like there is a "domicile lock waiver" (get out of jail free card) which allows a pilot to waive the two year lock one time only.

In addition, if a FO changes domiciles as described above, that FO cannot bid any other class 1, 2, or 3 aircraft. So it looks like if you are a ultra FO and really want to bid a Falcon FO spot after your two year seat lock is up, better hold off on transferring domiciles until after receiving the Falcon award.

There is also a provision there allowing two pilots on the same fleet, with the same position, to swap domiciles. So if Joe is an SIC on the 400xp in TEB and wants to move to PBI, and Bob is an SIC on the 400xp in PBI and wants to move to TEB, then they can just swap and not wait for a bid to come out.

I sure someone else will add more, but that is the gist of it.

Flywest is a good translator. I hate reading those LOA's.

Although he is no help on rental cars and keys. His solution was something like... "let me sprinkle some salt on that wound, now I'll wash it out with vinegar." :crying:

Fantastic News

Best rumor Ive heard all year!! Forgive the sinisium, 5 times bitten 10 times skepticism ya know.

I'm starting my basic indoc with NJA the 19th here, and I was wondering if anybody knew at which domiciles they use the sovereign besides lax? Because I would like to go to PBI.
Thanksss

Not a rumor guys. I'm staring at the LOA right here on my computer but Flightinfo won't let me attach files and I don't have Adobe Writer to convert the pdf to text.

It's real.

It ain't perfect but it's real.

FlyLow22 is not joking. There was an LOA signed on June 14, 2006 spelling out the condition for a pilot hired after the new contract was signed to change domicile's. Not great language, but atleast there is something in writing now. Good job 1108!!!

This is great news. The inability to change domiciles is what has kept me from filling out my app. and sending it in. I'm tied down to the northeast for a year or 2 more but would like to move back down south again.

Airlinepilotcentral.com shows the most junior capt. as having an Aug. 2005 hire date. I thought the upgrade was a couple of years longer than that.

Also, they only forecast hiring plans through 2006. Has NetJets published hiring plans for beyond 06.

I agree with you! I'm enjoying the Florida weather, but my roots are New England, so I like now that I have an option (not the best (TEB)).

This is how it used to be when there was by-pass pay. However there is no longer by-pass pay available, so the upgrades for the most part will go in chronological order of senority. This could make upgrades from present hire date around 4 to 5 years.

2006 seems to be fixing the pilot shortage that was present during contract negotiations. 2007 has an outlook for about the same amount of pilots. Mostly for growth... Between the phasing out of the Hawker 1000's and Citation VII's there wasn't much in the way of fleet growth (I believe 15ish net growth) but with next year, the orders of the CE-680, CE-560XL and G-200's will continue with less phasing out.
Partly fact, partly my opinion!
