I was wondering what kind of headseats work best in the Ultra and what, if any, are supplied.

Just some basic Telex headsets are provided. I see all kinds in use. I use a cheap FlightCom F20 headset and keep foam earplugs in during flight. I've seen everything from the $1000 top of the line Bose headset down to cheap ones like I use. About the only thing I haven't seen is those skimpy headsets that don't have an ear cup.

Headseats???

Are those for Buttheads???

If so....I need one!

:D

I use the Bose in the mighty U-Boat...its a very loud cockpit.

Thanks. I was wondering if it is too loud to wear the ones with just the little foam ear pieces like a walkman headset. Thanks for the advice.
.

I've used the Telex 850 in the U-boat for about a year with very good results. They aren't as quiet as maybe the Bose or Sennheiser units, but it doesn't use batteries and is quite a bit smaller. By the way, the 850's are active noise-cancelling headsets that draw their power from the avionics bus.

I've heard very good things about the 850's. Might be worth a try before shelling out the dough for the Bose.

I love my Sennheiser HMEC-25KA's. I've had them for just over three years, they got a short in the headset cord and all it cast me was eight bucks to ship them in for the repair. very lightweight and awesome noise cancelling. They last about 30 hours of flying on standard Energizer AA's

We used the Bose ANR when I flew the Metroliner; I've got Flightcom ANR now in the Kingair. Much prefer the Bose. My 2c.
