NJA Ground Instructor position on climbto350

Any NJA guys have any info about this position? NetJets has a big flowery description of "Key Roles & Responsibilities", but I think I was able to figure out what I think is the gist of the position. One big question is this: do they primarily teach basic indoc/FOM/GOM material, or is it more systems related?

The posting also mentions ATP/CFI/AGI certificates are preferred, and if you are qualified, "flying duties may be assigned as schedule permits". Is this simply a carrot to get applicants, or do the GS instructors fly on a semi-regular basis? Any idea about the compensation package?

ground instructors..

No disrespect but you cannot fly pax with 1500 hours . You must meet the min (2500) to be a FO or CPT. If the company is saying you will be flying part time, with less than 2500hrs, somethings fishy..

Currently the gnd inst are making more than line pilots (Generally) but if and when this contract passes, we will be making more. There is no provisions in the contract for the ground instructors.

The ground instructors have grouped together, gone to mgmt and said." what about it?" mgmt as of 4 weeks ago, had not responded. I dont know whats happened in the mean time. Most of the grnd inst. were going to bail ( go fly the line) if an adjustment wasnt made ( and I fully expect there will be an adjustment).

They mostly do instruction with some flying every month. The do not teach systems, but everything else. We go to ground recurrent every year, its 5 days long and EVERY PILOT goes .... Plus those guys teach initial (2 weeks) and whatever other crap the company decides to dish out.

They do type you in whatever they need at the moment ( usually the Ultra, 400, XL etc)

Additionally; all ground instructors must buy beer for the class at least twice in those five days.... Pizza on Wednesday's and test answers.....

Thank you very much for the info! I realize "if qualified" is the catch and per NJA standards and my current time, I am not (although I am working towards it). I do, however, enjoy the classroom part of teaching and was curious if the GS instructors really *did* fly or if that was just a recruiting carrot. I have a buddy that works in the Casino and he likes it (not the kind of guy to jerk around pilots the last year or so)...the only downside of the job would be living in Ohio!
If I were to get the job, I think I could spring for a pitcher and a pie, but I hope you like Natty Lite and Tombstone....:beer:

There's no doubt that the GS openings will be due to pilots going back to the line. I talked to a couple of them myself and they will go back to the line if the pay doesn't go up.
I forsee that pretty soon, the only line pilots teaching ground school will be brand new FOs turned to teaching or medicaled out pilots.
