I have a question for any netjet crew member only. My roommate works for a fractional and has over 4700 hours tt with 4200 pic and 800 turbine. he sent in the app they sent him, and he just got a letter saying that they don't want an interview. He has no marks on his ticket no driving tickets he's clean. What did he do wrong? Would they decline him if maybe he screwed up something on the paperwork? Thanks for your help.

Citation Shares is hiring. I'd respectfully suggest that since he'll NEVER be able find out what actually happened, to apply elsewhere.

4500 Total with 4200 PIC is awful suspicious. I nkow the Part 61 stuff but many places want Assinged PIC, Capt, or Aircraft Commander.

Good God man....I've got that much time in SIC alone.

It seems that NetJets is hiring a lot of Airline (retired mind you) Pilots these days.

Or, so I'm told...my buddy just finished G200 training and the class had 3/4 of the NetJets G200 pilots were retired airline pilots.

Maybe he isn't competative with a retired 121 guy.

Or, it could be what has been mentioned here in the above statements.

What is your friends current title (PIC or SIC)?

Is (or did) your friend log his SIC flight time as PIC "because he is typed in the plane"?

When I hired on I had about 4000 total time, about 2000 PIC, 2000 SIC, only about 2000 multi, and 2000 turbine, if that helps you out.

I've got 4300TT and 4200PIC. That includes over 900 hours of instruction given, but even if you subtract that it's still close. I've been flying single pilot freight the last 4 years so for me it jives. If I saw those numbers from an airline guy though, I too would raise the BS flag unless they found a real quick upgrade. And I got the call from NetJets too, just didn't get the job. Haven't been able to get the time of day from CitationShares or Flexjet though.

It's not a curse it is a lack of experience. I am sorry but 800 turbine is not enough to jump into a 8 to 12 seat FL450 time machine and be able to keep up. Tell him to keep flying as much as possible, don't pass on any upgrade or type opportunities, and reapply later. Don't get discouraged and don't worry. We are going to be hiring for a long time to come.:pimp:

He also applied at c s and got the same letter. Its a curse.

It may have to do more with lack of crew experience/crm - just a thought.

Seems like the guys with no crew experience have a harder time adapting. Can be done, has been done but there are plenty of applicants with the crew time already.

I guess he is already working at one of the frax so he is cruising at high altitudes now. We already know its not CS or NJ. Two that would be my choice... and also FLEX.

Since CRM is really important for the Fracs the fact that you do not have alot of crew experience this may be a problem.

In the past I have recieved applications from many pilots in the same situation alot of single pilot time but no real CRM experience and unfortunately a guy with less PIC but more SIC would get an interview before the high PIC time guy.

It really sucks and it is a number game.

Good luck

NJ is wierd with their time requirements. I saw the head recruiter turn away a Harrier guy and an F-16 guy at an AirInc in Dallas.

Only one engine on those planes. Yeah... but... YGBSM.

You really think a guy who can fly a harrier can't pass the training on a Citation because it has two engines?

He works for avantair as sic but he has 500 hours pic jet as captain in a be 400 and if you cant fly a jet with 800hours turbine experience you have issues. The reason he has so much pic is because he flew freight for 2 years. He has just always wanted to go to Netjets.

Tell him never take "no" for an answer and keep knocking on the door. He may get a foot in the door before too long. You never know.

Just a thought, double check your math. Currently turbine SIC at avantair, 500 hours turbine PIC on Beechjet 400, and only 800 hours total turbine? That's an awful quick upgrade on the Beechjet?

Your spelling may have been a factor, if you spelled the name of the company the way you did in your first post, it is not Netjet, it is Netjets.

Did he address it to Durinda? That might be a problem.

They hire all types of people; I know a few that have gotten in with no turbine time. My sim partner was a CFI and he got hired. When I was hired I had something like 3500TT 3400PIC, again CFIing, banner towing and 3 yrs of freight.

It doesn't hurt to keep trying after they said No... I know a couple guys that got in on their 2nd try.
