FMLA rocks. I have done two so far for our children. I have been able to take about 5-6 weeks off each time PAID. Each time I used one week of vacation and the rest sick time.
The company is real good about this.
There are some restrictions during probation as far as using sick/vacation time. Not sure of the details though.

Flylow - can you please give some examples of the $$$ you made on grievance pay. Is this on top of your regular salary? Kind of like Nj paying a ticket for violating you?

Thanks - Baja.

Paying a ticket is a great example.

There were many great examples in 2005.

Many were scheduling related.

The money paid is taxable and is entered in as "grievance" pay on your paycheck. Goes toward the yearly W2.

What kind of stuff are they paying on? If you have made $3k in 24 days that sounds unreal! For that kind of extra pay it might be worth it to try and figure out how to put yourself in the position to be hosed and then collect from the Co.....Hmmmmmmmnnnnnnn??????

Baja.
