A friend of mine who has been a part of the management team over at the Large Aircraft division at Net Jets says they have purchased two B767-200ER's. I happen to be familiar with the aircraft in question and was wondering how these aircraft, along with the B757's will impact the pilot group at NJ? Will these be handled and manned the same as the BBJ's. Sounds interesting for the pilot group. The guy I know is down at Delta at this time doing a requal in the 757 as he had prior experience about 10 or 12 years ago.

some of us new hires already have over 5,000 hours in those things and over 25 years of recurrent trainings in all kinds of stuff down at Ft. Widget, but I don't think NJA management really cares.......

I'd be very surprised if they are coming to NJA. I haven't heard anything about it, and if NJA pilots were going to fly them, I'm pretty sure that I'd hear the commotion. NJA pilots would bid to see who gets to fly them, and that hasn't happened.

Believe me they are coming. The 57's are going to be used in sports team charters, and hi-end international groups travel. Things like palying the top 25 golf courses around the world. NJA has a name for this particular type of charter but it escapes me now. The 67's should have about 14 hours range so they could be doing some very long haul charter as well.

767-200ER's could be pretty tired, i.e.close to 20 years in service.
757 / 767 sports charters were quite popular at Delta only a few years ago, and supposedly very profitable.
Hopefully RTS will make them MORE profitable than Delta if NJA intends to play that game.......

Just like you said...charter. If anything, they are probably going to Executive Jet Management. There was a post on this a couple weeks ago and I think someone said EJM is getting them. NJA is separate from EJM so if that is the case, NJA pilots won't be flying them. As far as I know, no plans have been made to bid NJA pilots to a 757/767.

The name for it is saving your job. The people in large aircraft have been trying to save their jobs for a long time. Way too many chiefs and not enough indians.....

121 Certificate

Does Netjets have a 121 certificate. It isn't easy getting one of these things these days, and you they would need one for the this type of proposed operation.
