Calm down Junior. The $10 charge is a good idea. This board was being deluged by spammers, trolls and flamers. As soon as they were banned they would simply sign up under another name.

The $10 is a one-time charge that prevents that and keeps these morons out of here. Even a dumb one is not goung to shell out ten bucks multiple times a year.

It's a measly $10 for a lifetime membership to the best aviation message board out there.

You guys crack me up. Pleeeease, you certainly know more about flying then website design and php. All php has many ad-ons that stop spammers. Nothing stops flammers.

Most within the php software itself. And how much does php cost. Oh yeah it FREE! Php Nuke, bBlog, Core Grasp, Jetbox & php fusion just to name a few. The hosting is what cost $ per month.

Just the registraton process alone stops the automatic computer spammers. Think "type what you see on the screen". A magic bullet.

Ever think of the income generated from all these ads your looking at. They don't NEED your $10 to stop anything. They want your $10. You think your $10 is going to the efforts of stopping spammers & flammers! Good thing you did decide to hold of from applying at NJ. You'd be a waist of their time.

This site is the classic text book website of a forum and how to make some coin from it. Create a pool of people in one place that have common interest, charge nothing, develope good numbers and content so it makes people want to stay. The higher the member #'s the better the ad sells, then whammo. Registration fee.

I agree $10 is a drop in the bucket. But it's the principle here and the thought that it's actually stopping spam. HAHAHAHAHAHA:laugh:

To bchjetdrvr:
You can turn off those advertisements. Play around the site and you may find out how. Hint: it takes only 2 clicks.

That other site is just as good and it is free-for now.
