Just a quick question for the NJ guys. I was on the IBT website and some clown said that the current NJ contract was being recinded or being forced to be re-negociated. Is that even possible?
I have no idea what's really going on; they don't tell us much these days. Are things that bad over there? I though you guys maded money the first quarter.

Apparently no one except the top level NJA execs know what's going
Hope that clarifies the current NJA happenings:beer:
ha..good point..No doubt they don't know what's going on..Unfortunately they have the numbers that the rest of us don't!are you sure about that?
I heard we were buying USAir...
God help us!
God help us!
Rescinded? No, it's not being rescinded or under some kind of "forced" renegotiation. The clown in question is indeed a clown. It's a contract, and short of the company entering Chapter 11 (not likely), neither side can simply change the terms.
Our current contract has the option of a 3-year extension. It's entirely at the company's discretion to extend it, provided they meet some criteria spelled out in the contract. If they choose not to, or don't meet the criteria, then we'll enter normal bargaining just prior to our current contract's amendable date. But until a new contract is signed, this one is in full force. Not sure where your clown got his information, but it's way off.

How can anyone PROVE any figures provided by management? For example, does anyone really believe they sold off less than 11 days in 4Q10? I don't. And no, I have no proof for that position. Its my opinion. Bottom line is that there is no definitive way to prove any of the numbers they share with the union.
The one year snapshot on international flying starts this November. They have to decide by November of 2012 to extend it or not. If they decide not to extend it, the contract becomes amendable in May of 2013. Section 6 openers can be put out 6 months prior to that.
November of 2012 should be interesting.
What can one expect if management decides to not extend the Netjet contract ?
Chaos. Mayhem. And an already wounded company pushed to the brink. JMHO.

delay delay delay.... Thats what they did last time.
The only problem I have with this theory is that when the company treated so so many so terribly, and cut staffing to the bone... NJA pilots were intent on doing everything they could to keep the owners happy... IE: they inadvertantly ended up working longer days, flying more tired, basically NOT DRAWING A LINE IN THE SAND.....BUT mess with the contract or draw out negotiations then it's "burn this M.F. down!"
I disagree with the thought process behind it. It takes on the form of an "I'm gonna get mine attitude." But if I hear one pilot say, "were you here for the 2012-2015 contract" I may just create my own Mayhem and chaos!!
The Union has already stated that getting much more in the way of pay is going to be very very difficult because of our current levels. So the gains will be made with the smaller QOL aspects of the contract.
